A contemporary finish to
new-build penthouses in Birmingham
Project Description
The client, Spitfire Homes, required a lightweight brick cladding system for single storey penthouse suites on the top of a new build apartment complex close to Birmingham City Centre.
PCS proposed the brick slip option which enabled the cladding work to continue even after the main scaffold had been dropped, therefore saving valuable programme time for completion.
Designed and supplied by PCS, the clients chose a stack bonded brick pattern in contrast to the traditional half bond pattern of the main apartment building below. The red bricks combined well with the dark grey colour of the PPC aluminium trims around the windows and balcony wall copings to give a sophisticated finish to compliment the plush interiors of the luxury apartments.
PCS also designed, supplied and the installed the PPC aluminium trims around the windows and doors of the penthouse apartments as well as the rainscreen support system and rigid insulation slabs prior to the horizontal Surebrick rails and Forterra brick slips being fitted and pointed.
